WhatsApp Pay is finally available in India. WhatsApp has eventually rolled out its UPI payment services for iPhone and Android users in India. How to use WhatsApp Pay feature?
Firstly, you will require to download the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone for the WhatsApp Pay option to be available. To register for WhatsApp Payments, you also need a bank account and a debit card. It is essential to perceive that the phone that you are utilizing WhatsApp on has to be running with the same mobile number as your bank account.
To proceed with transactions, one can click on the payments option in the attachments tab (the paperclip button) of the chat. It is the tab, from where one would earlier send photos, videos etc. Moreover, it will then open the registration page. It will provide the necessary permissions, attach the bank account and conclude the registration. One also requires a UPI passcode.
Nevertheless, if one previously have an account in an existing UPI app, the same code can be utilized. Both parties require to have this enabled, after which they can transfer and receive money. Like UPI, WhatsApp Pay will also have a limit of Rs 1 lakh.
