Poland’s, Olsztyn uses the Ethereum blockchain for emergency assistance. Olsztyn is the first city across the globe to use Ethereum’s blockchain to assist in the procurement of emergency services. Olsztyn completed a successful trial run of SmartKey. SmartKey is a technology that combines blockchain with physical assets. It intends to help fire, police, and ambulance services.
Olsztyn‘s rescue teams to use Teltonika smart devices.
SmartKey will enable rescue teams to execute their jobs more effectively by combining a smart contract with Teltonika smart devices. The local rescue teams will use the Teltonika smart devices. With this connection, emergency teams will be capable of entering any building in the city without having to hunt a keyholder or wait for the approval. The SmartKey device and app will allow fire, ambulance, and police teams to access any part of the exclusive district or protected building in the city carefully and securely. Moreover, this will decrease acknowledgement times and has the potential to protect lives.
However, it is not at all restricted to crisis services and locked doors. By utilizing this technology, cities can probably enhance traffic, energy efficiency, air quality, and much more. When cars and streets are linked to low-volume wifi, there can be a decrease in actual traffic efficiently. Moreover, rag pickers will be able to concentrate on waste instead of repeating the same old routine every day.
SmartKey claims that blockchain technology can form a great foundation for the development of smart cities. Moreover, it connects the physical aspects, like an introduction to locations and devices, with the blockchain of things. SmartKey’s vision is to be the provider for the smart cities of the future. Thus, combining various sources of data through public blockchain, to power transport, utilities, and infrastructure.
Moreover, Poland has been moderately open to blockchain technology. In 2019, a large Polish bank stated that it would utilize Ethereum smart contracts for document verification. Alior planned to leverage Ethereum’s blockchain to be in line with new guidelines established by the country’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. Moreover, Alior aspires to become a model for other banks in Poland.
