Elon Musk and other high profile personalities like Bill Gates, CZ, the CEO of Binance, Cash App and others have been hacked to tweet bitcoin scam.

The hack appears to be a coordinated attack primarily targeting crypto communities. Noticed in this hack trend is Binance Exchange, Coinbase, Gemini, Bitfinex and other top exchanges twitter handle tweeting and retweeting the scam message.

Subsequently, the hackers posted a bitcoin wallet address for unspecting victims to send funds to. In some of the scam tweet, the message appears to be soliciting donations. But in other handles like Elon Musk, Bill Gates and even Uber, the scammers post differently. They post that they will double any funds sent to the address in their message.

The scammer(s) bitcoin address appears to be getting some reception in BTC as explorer shows.

In fact Omen Markets, a prediction platform posts for people to predict how much the scammers’ bitcoin wallet will receive.

As at this publication, the hackers bitcoin wallet address have received over 11 bitcoins as shown on the explorer: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh

Justin Sun’s BitTorrent just tweet that Sun a popular crypto personality who was also a victim of this hack is putting out a $1 million bounty that may lead to the culprits arrest.

With Elon Musk, Bill Gates and other hacked, how far can this scammers go to perpetuate their bitcoin scam?
