The crypto community is witnessing a bit of a Twitter battle between Juan Benet, the founder of Filecoin, and Justin Sun, the TRON creator. Justin Sun, CEO of the Tron Foundation, has accused the developers of the Filecoin project of pulling an exit scam after dropping 1.5 million FIL tokens at $200, without the community’s consent. However, naturally, Benet was not happy. Juan Benet slams Justin Sun for Filecoin accusations.
The screenshot emphasizes that approximately 800,000 FIL tokens were transferred to the Huobi crypto exchange. Sun even went on further towards pointing out that investors should get hold of Filecoin’s founder and be held accountable for developing such a massive uproar by playing with investors’ money or even contact the SEC for the matter.
For the uninitiated, Filecoin is a decentralized network that develops as a competitor to centralized commercial cloud offerings. FIL is the native token affiliated with the blockchain project. Filecoin raised a massive amount in a token offering listed on CoinList various years ago. However, since the offering, Filecoin has been beavering away, ultimately obtaining Mainnet launch this past week.
Filecoin founder counterattacks accusations
However, Juan Benet worked on the counterattack, calling the accusations by Justin Sun “bullshit” and “completely false.” Juan Benet considers the motive as to why Sun is attacking FIL token. However, in his tweet, he reminds his followers about Justin Sun’s controversial takeover of the Hive. Moreover, he also emphasizes the reports that emerged when he acquired Steem. In March, reports surfaced that some significant community leaders of Steem, perhaps unhappy with Sun’s hostile takeover, were planning a hard fork plan. Finally, the hard fork occurred, leaving Sun without access to the developer’s reward.
Moreover, Juan Benet also goes on to say that he has scammed his way to a fortune. He says that Sun has attempted to wreck its communities and tried to steal its success. Additionally, he elucidates that Sun’s projects profit from harm to theirs, so he has a commercial interest in striking.
Justin Sun’s tweet received mixed reactions from the Crypto community.
The CEO’s tweet endured mixed reactions from the crypto community. Some criticized the already controversial figure, famous for conducting unorthodox marketing gimmicks. Moreover, ShapeShift’s CEO, Erik Voorhees, even compared Sun to Craiglist. He is a notable figure in the crypto community for spreading white lies.
