MetaMask, an Ethereum wallet, attempts to draw institutional investors into the decentralized finance sector with its institutional-grade version. ConsenSys-backed MetaMask has announced the development of institutional-grade infrastructure for correlating to the needs of the decentralized finance (DeFi) market. ConsenSys will start providing trading firms and cryptocurrency custodians an institutional-grade version of MetaMask.
Curv to onboard as the first user of MetaMask’s institutional-grade version
The new version of the wallet allows to secure various DeFi applications and other applications, the company stated. Further, users will be capable of borrowing, lending, swapping tokens, and financing in ETH applications with the enhanced security and reporting characteristics required for institutions. Digital asset custody firm Curv will be the wallet’s first user, consolidating the new MetaMask wallet to develop its new Curv DeFi product. Moreover, the firm’s existing clients, including eToro, will use the new version.
Furthermore, Curv is the most trusted digital asset security infrastructure. It is a fully scalable, enterprise-grade, and compliant cloud service. Curv’s MPC (multi-party computation) technology concurrently offers institutions instant availability, protection, and total autonomy across digital assets needed to succeed in the digital economy.
MetaMask has over 1 million monthly active users. It recently introduced token swaps and is looking to grow even further. Over the past year, MetaMask observed a notable increase in the adoption of DAOs, Web3 games, and the rapid customer uptake of DeFi products.
Moreover, following the MetaMask’s institutional-grade version release, ConsenSys Codefi will start an Early Adopter Program. ConsenSys Codefi will collude with a selective group of partners, custodians, and professional trading firms. Thus, enabling them to develop product peculiarities, lead the development roadmap, and obtain early access to the new MetaMask combination for their clients. Earlier this year, MetaMask introduced its mobile wallet and upgraded the Web3 browser wallet to 8.0 with added characteristics. It includes the ability to choose one or more accounts to connect with a website.
